Secure storage and rapid exchangeability of data was essential

Inbo stands ready to face the future with a new storage infrastructure.

In addition to many benefits, digitisation of the business environment has brought with it a number of challenges, one of which arises from the management and exchange of extremely large amounts of data. For Inbo, an independent architect's office and industry leader, this problem had reached such proportions that it turned to Proact for a solution. Composed of eleven teams of architects, Inbo generates a large amount of data which includes digital technology, photos, artist impressions, etc. Therefore, secure storage and rapid exchangeability of data are essential to the optimal management of the company's business.

"We have reduced the risk of outage..."

Inbo has improved its ICT infrastructure and implemented VMware technology in conjunction with Proact and other parties. Inbo has minimised the impact of server outage by using VMware as a virtualisation standard, and thus by making servers and their applications independent of physical hardware. When outages do occur, however, VMware ensures that other physical servers can directly take over the role of the server that is down.

By choosing Caringo's pioneering CAS system, Inbo has installed a cheaper storage solution which provides almost unlimited opportunities for secure, long-term data storage.

Ruud Steenmeijer, ICT Manager, concludes that Inbo now has a strong platform in place. "As a result of all this, we have reduced the risk of outage to some degree and put in place better safeguards for the continuity of Inbo's business."
