A quarter of companies use cloud storage

Proact Storage Barometer: More than a quarter – 26 per cent – of listed companies and authorities use cloud services for storage and archiving, or are planning to do so. However, many IT departments are still playing a waiting game when it comes to IT in the clouds. These are the findings of the Proact Storage Barometer.   “However, developments are taking place quickly, and I think we will be seeing a breakthrough soon,” says Per Sedihn, CTO at Proact. Forma Publishing Group is one company that perceives clear gains from buying cloud storage.

Major shortcomings in companies' disaster protection measures

Authorities and listed companies are not very well equipped to deal with IT system breakdowns. 45 per cent of organisations - almost half - state that it would take at least a day and possibly up to several weeks before their systems could be used fully again following crashes in their most business-critical systems. These are the findings of the Proact Storage Barometer*, a survey involving IT managers from 100 listed companies and authorities.

Proact opens its doors in Sundsvall

Archive and storage specialists Proact are underpinning their operations in northern Sweden and opening an office in Sundsvall. Ten or so new staff members will be recruited over the year. Proact has already gained a number of clients in the region.
